Update: 10 killed after tourist boats capsize in SW China

The last missing individual has been found but confirmed dead as of Monday noon, after tourist boats capsized in Qianxi, Southwest China's Guizhou Province, on Sunday afternoon. 

An earlier news report by Xinhua News Agency said that nine people have died and one was missing after four tourist boats capsized due to sudden gales on a river in Qianxi during the May Day holiday.

A total of 84 people fell into the water in the accident. Among them, 70 were still hospitalized by Monday morning, none of whom were in life-threatening condition. The boats involved were not overloaded, Xinhua reported on Monday.

The Guizhou Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps dispatched eight teams, comprising 84 vehicles, 248 personnel, including 83 divers, 16 underwater robots, and 24 boats, to rush to the scene for rescue operations, according to a CCTV News report.

Local meteorological authority issued a yellow alert 13:50 on Sunday, saying that thunderstorms would occur in multiple places.
